How to choose an espresso filter basket for a wholesale order
Compare KICO basket construction, nominal dose, height, pattern and perforation details before specifying an order.
Compare espresso filter baskets by construction, working dimensions and the exact configuration you want supplied. This guide uses four KICO listings to show which details belong together in a wholesale inquiry.
Choose the basket configuration first
Begin with the product code, the listed basket construction and the option you want quoted. Confirm the working diameter, basket height and intended portafilter before ordering.
A product photograph can show several finishes or designs. Specify which one you need. The colour, layer construction and nominal dose are separate details, and a choice shown for one basket should not be assumed to apply to another.
Compare the four KICO basket listings
KHC-C01 is a double-layer basket line shown in four colour appearances. Confirm the material, working dimensions and available supply configurations for the option you select.
KHC-C02 is the Berlin Forest double-layer basket with an etched precision mesh. The documented 58 mm options are 18 g with a 24 mm height, 20 g with a 26 mm height, and 22 g with a 28 mm height. Include both nominal dose and height in your request.
KHC-C03 combines patterned designs with fixed layer constructions. Its single-layer designs use laser perforation, while its double-layer designs use an etched precision mesh. The documented options pair eight patterns with 18 g or 24 g nominal doses.
KHC-C04 is listed as pure titanium with a nominal 58 mm size, laser-drilled perforations and an ice-crystal coating. Its documented perforation specification is 2,000 holes with a nominal hole diameter of 0.22 mm. Five colour appearances are shown.
Keep nominal dose and basket height together
A nominal dose identifies an option in the listing. It does not supply all the dimensions needed to check whether that basket fits your portafilter.
For KHC-C02, the 18 g, 20 g and 22 g options have different documented heights. Copy the complete option into the inquiry instead of requesting only a 58 mm basket.
For another basket, ask for the dimensions of the particular option you want. Do not carry the KHC-C02 heights across to a different product code.
Check the pattern and layer combination
For KHC-C03, choose the pattern and its documented dose option. Each pattern has a fixed layer construction; the listing is not a free combination of every pattern with both layer types.
Kaleidoscope is the confirmed name for the design that appeared as Maze in some source filenames. Use Kaleidoscope in the inquiry so that the selected pattern is clear.
The documented matrix contains 16 pattern-and-dose options. Confirm the diameter for the selected option; the shared pattern listing does not establish that every option has the same working diameter.
Read perforation specifications at product level
The 2,000-hole and 0.22 mm figures belong to KHC-C04. They should not be used as a specification for KHC-C01, KHC-C02 or KHC-C03.
Perforation details identify the product construction. They do not by themselves demonstrate a particular extraction yield, flavour improvement or certified food-contact result. Ask for the evidence relevant to a requirement in your buying brief.
Send an inquiry that identifies the exact option
Include the KICO product code, selected pattern or colour reference, nominal dose where listed, required quantity and destination. Add the portafilter or machine information relevant to your fit check.
Ask KICO to confirm the working dimensions, supplied configuration and any material or documentation requirements before the order is agreed. Keep separate options on separate lines so that the quotation can identify each configuration.
Questions before ordering
Does double-layer mean double-wall or pressurised?
The confirmed descriptions identify layer construction and, for certain products, an etched mesh. They do not establish a pressurised or double-wall mechanism. Request a construction confirmation for the selected basket if that distinction matters to the order.
Is every KHC-C03 pattern available in both layer types?
No. Each documented pattern has a fixed layer type. The confirmed matrix has eight patterns with two nominal dose options, for 16 options in total.
Does 0.22 mm describe the basket diameter?
No. For KHC-C04, 0.22 mm is the nominal hole diameter. Its nominal basket size is listed separately as 58 mm.
